Sheldon Feinstein

Sheldon Feinstein is Of Counsel to the firm. Mr. Feinstein graduated City College of New York in 1954 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. He received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. He initially worked as a civil engineer until 1961.

Mr. Feinstein is admitted to the bar of the State of New York, Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

During Mr. Feinstein’s forty year legal career he has been actively engaged in the practice of law specializing in construction and commercial matters. He has tried over fifty cases relating to construction law in private and public construction matters. Mr. Feinstein has also litigated construction claims and disputes involving the Federal Government. Mr. Feinstein has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and vendors in court actions, arbitrations and mediation proceedings involving public and private construction projects, presentation of claims for additional work, disputed work claims, and claims for the recovery of damages due to delays in the construction of the projects.

In connection with the presentation of construction claims and the representation of clients, Mr. Feinstein has appeared before many public agencies including the New York State Office of General Services, New York State Department of Transportation, New York City School Construction Authority, New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority, New York City Housing Authority New York City Department of Design and Construction, New York City Department of Finance and various Federal Government agencies. Mr. Feinstein also represents clients in corporate matters, real estate transactions, condominium and cooperative conversions, and personal injury actions. Mr. Feinstein has argued many cases in Appellate Courts involving important issues for the construction industry. Mr. Feinstein has served as an arbitrator on the Construction Industry Panel of the American Arbitration Association.
